Do not be a hero

A lot of times it is better to be a quitter than to be a Hero.

We face many situations in our day-to-day life where we encounter a task for which we think we can do in less than 2 hours. And 4 hours down the line we find ourselves stuck with the same damn task.

At this point, most people wear a cape and shut themselves from the world to finish that task. Now this task has become something of a challenge for them instead of just being a task.

This mindset is wrong. This task was worth it when you thought it would take 2 hours to complete. But now you’ve already spent 2 extra hours and are still far from completion.

It is time to take a step back and ask yourself, is it really worth it?

And most of the time answer will be NO.

No, it’s not worth it.

It only makes sense to quit spending extra hours on the existing task and spend them where it actually matters. You can do so much more with your precious time.

Quitting Is Not Failing

I don’t know where we have picked this notion that quitting means failing. That quitter = failure.

That’s utter nonsense.

Quitting simply means to have the intelligence to know when to stop doing something and walk away.

In fact, sometimes quitting could be a crucial step for success in the long run.

In the old times, the side who was about to lose the battle retreats their army and saved their lives. It was not because they were a failure, it was because they wanted to live to fight another day. There are famous battles that took place and the losing side actually won. The only reason for their victory was that they were smart enough to know when to quit.

Don’t be afraid of quitting if the reason is appropriate.
